Webster town employees who have retired since Jan. 2020

More employees intend to retire in the coming months

Webster, NY - A growing number of Webster town employees have retired since January 2020. But due to the circumstances of COVID-19, there were no big “send-offs,” although the word is that, once the world starts opening back up, there will be a gathering to celebrate the retirements of these employees.


The town employees who have retired between January 2020 and January 2021 are:

  • Sandra York, Office Clerk III, Justice Court: 18 years

  • Charles Korherr, Police Officer, Webster Police Department: 20 years

  • Deborah Licata, Office Clerk III, Webster Police Department: 17 years

  • Mark Yaeger, Recreation Director, Parks & Recreation: 14 years

  • Carl Thompson, Grounds Equipment Operator, Parks & Recreation: 17 years

  • Barbara Ottenschot, Town Clerk, Town Clerk Office: 25 years

  • Sean Maciejewski, Highway Maintenance Mechanic, Highway: 34 years

  • James Reiber, Vehicle Mechanic I, Highway: 34 years

  • Paul Zaft, Motor Equipment Operator, Highway: 34 years

  • Michael Jones, Maintenance Mechanic II, Highway: 32 years

  • James Manley, Vehicle Mechanic I, Highway: 20 years

  • Joseph Rieger, Chief of Police, Webster Police Department: 31 years

Sandra York, Office Clerk III, Justice Court. Leave Date: 1/25/20. Years of Service: 18
Mark Yaeger, Recreation Director, Parks & Recreation. Leave Date: 4/24/20. Years of Service: 14
Barbara Ottenschot, Town Clerk, Town Clerk's Office. Leave Date: 6/30/20. Years of Service: 25
Sean Maciejewski, Highway Maintenance Mechanic, Highway. Leave Date: 1/5/2021. Years of Service: 34. Started in January of 1987 as a laborer and made his way up to a top MM (Maintenance mechanic), which runs mowers and sweepers, as well as trucks.
James Reiber, Vehicle Mechanic I, Highway. Leave Date: 1/5/2021. Years of Service: 34. Started in January of 1987 as a laborer and went into the mechanics department as a top mechanic, as well as a driver.
Paul Zaft, Motor Equipment Operator, Highway. Leave Date: 1/5/2021. Years of Service: 34. Started in July 1986 as a laborer and climbed his way up to a top MEO, which operates any piece of equipment in the department.
Michael Jones, Maintenance Mechanic II, Highway. Leave Date: 1/5/2021. Years of Service: 32. Started in February of 1987 as a laborer and made his way up to MMII, someone who runs mowers, sweepers and trucks.
Nancy Rohan Steele, Office Manager, Highway. Leave Date: 5/29/2020. Years of Service: 20
James Manley, Vehicle Mechanic I, Highway. Leave Date: 1/5/2021. Years of Service: 20. Started in August of 2000 as a mechanic and retired from there.
Joseph Rieger, Chief of Police, Webster Police Department. Leave Date: 1/11/2021. Years of Service: 31

More town retirements are expected for 2021, including that of Highway Superintendent Joseph Herbst.
